kash - < Hopefully Sony will have a 500Mhz mobile K6-3 in it otherwise I will have to settle for an Intel laptop!!>

Can I interest you in a Geyserville enabled machine, which allows full (Coppermine) processor speed to be enabled when plugged into the wall? These should be available for Christmas.

Here at the shop, if I understand things correctly, we plan on migrating to Geyserville machines in lieu of desktops for office apps starting next year. The plants and facilities will be wired, or possibly radioed in some instances, so we can connect to the network throughout the facilities.

kash, In my opinion Sony is light years ahead of all the rest of the OEM's. for example if you go to frys and look down the display isle dispanying all the desk tops they all look the same. Same old repackaged crap they have been selling for years then look at the Sony Vaio line it's light years ahead in design and software bundeling, maketing promotions digital perriferial connectibility. They should win some awards for the designs. My partner commented that if you buy a Sony desk top model two years from now the rest of the manufactures will finally be selling their stuff looking like sony, so for the next two years you can have hi tech bragging rights to your Sony box and everyoone else can dream about owning one. Suggest everyone check them out there hot products. I have the Sony Vaio notebook with Pentium 11 366. I have the dual battery set up and get almost 8 hours of play time before a recharge.my other friends are always shuting off their box to save juice so they can make it through the day. HOw weak is that?
