Rembrandt? Well, given the recent work of the Rembrandt Commission, even to consider the then/now thing is to open a can of worms. What can be said with absolute certainty is that he was one of the most highly-respected painters in Northern Europe in his day.

Picasso came from a family of artists--a friend of mine has several drawings by his father--and was well-known and successful from the start. By the time he reached maturity he was extremely rich.

Mozart and Bach were roaring successes. All this isn't my "position". It's fact.
