CRANFORD, N.J., May 27 (Reuters) - Mack-Cali Realty Corp. said Thursday it will begin construction on three projects at the Jersey City, N.J. waterfront, estimated to cost $150 million. The company, which said it owns about 35 percent of the top office space on Jersey City's waterfront, plans to immediately start work on a three-story office building for Internet brokerage firm Waterhouse Securities, which has signed a 15-year lease. That office will be above a 1,100-car parking garage, also being built by Mack-Cali. The third project is a joint venture with Hyatt Hotels Corp. for a 350-room Hyatt Regency Hotel. Mack-Cali, a real estate investment trust or REIT, recently signed long-term leases for other properties at Jersey City's Harborside Financial Center, which is directly across the Hudson River from Manhattan's World Financial Center. It is part of a larger waterfront area that has drawn many firms looking for lower operating costs. Those lease commitments were signed last week by PR Newswire Association, Forest Laboratories Inc. <FRX.A>, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.'s <MWD.N> Dean Witter Reynolds Inc., and Exodus Communications Inc. <EXDS.O>. --Bill
