Well nobody complained getting more performance with some extra heat added, when we had to shift from 233mmx to pII233, right?
Only until later intel did (and COULD do) something about the heat problem, by bringing out the pII333 and faster on .25 .

AMD does the same now, starting off with the "boiler" secc1 package, later when heat becomes a more evident problem, transfer to secc2 should be smooth, and .18 will stretch things even further.

AMD is going trough the same steps as intel did a while ago, but with much bigger speed and allready knowing what they will encounter.

How much more overall power dissipation did the PII 300 have compared to the Pentium 60/66???
