Daw Technologies Inc. Announces Alliance With Praxair Inc.
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 1999--Daw Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ:DAWK - news), Thursday announced that it signed an alliance agreement with Praxair Inc. to provide single source solutions for turnkey wafer fab facilities systems and related ongoing services using Praxair's Point OneSM Fab Integration Services.
Other alliance members are Dynamic Systems Inc. and ISinc Inc.
The Point OneSM alliance, introduced by Praxair in May of 1998, provides the semiconductor industry with a single contact point for the integration of wafer fab facilities systems design, engineering, construction, installation, startup and ongoing site services.
Historically, chipmakers were required to coordinate multiple facilities system suppliers, each of whom operates independently, to plan, build, supply and manage the development of their wafer manufacturing facilities, resulting in increased costs and construction time.
The semiconductor manufacturers can now streamline their fab building process and expedite start up by placing their entire facility process systems with the Pont OneSM Fab Integration alliance.
''We are pleased to be partnering with Praxair, a world class international firm with tremendous resources,'' said Ronald W. Daw, chairman and chief executive officer. ''The combined expertise of the alliance will offer our customers significant synergies in the construction of their facilities resulting in both reduced costs and lead times,'' added Daw.
Daw went on to say, ''In the past, we have found ourselves in a competitive disadvantage in bidding on the larger $20 million and up projects. The alliance will provide Daw the necessary resources and competitive advantage to participate in these larger fab projects as well as other projects not previously available to Daw.''
