From Bosco's article: "IF THE MARKET for cable modems is going to be so big, how come the stock prices of modem makers Terayon (TERN) and Com21 (CMTO) are getting so small?"

Ken and Bosco,
Easy answer, "Commodity."

Now they are all built to the same DOCSIS standards. Short term it's great for mass deployment, but probably not so great for the manufactures. But longer term, it's a win-win for everyone.

Ken I don't think we have to worry a great deal about this in regards to ANTC. ANTC is a reseller. Not a manufacturer of cable modems. I hope I'm not being naive about this (you can't do much research on a private company). But I believe it should be of more concern to NT who has to pass a lot more of the P&L over to their books since they own, what, 75% of Arris Interactive? But I bet it's still peanuts to NT's bottom line, either plus or minus.

At some point, you would have to think NT/ANTC will take Arris public. Then God only knows how it will be valued in the marketplace. I'm sure it will be good for both of them.
