SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 1, 1999--Glen Easthope, CEO of The
General Store International Corp. (OTC BB: GSIC), is pleased to announce today
that on May 19, 1999 the Company has distributed in excess of 500,000 doorstep
flyers throughout the greater Vancouver area.

The General Store, as part of its business plan strategy to rapidly grow both its

"The response to the advertising campaign over the last sixty days has been
phenomenal," says The General Stores CEO Glen Easthope. "Our customer base
in the Vancouver market has grown to over 2500 customers and our Area
Franchise representatives have grown to over 100, a 30% increase. We will

area while we ready ourselves for the final approval of our UFOC from the State
of Washington Department of Financial Institutions... The General Store will then
commence distribution of these flyers in its launch market in the United States."
