The head God of the Greeks was notorious for laying pretty low. He would change into a swan, a bull, what have you ... to get it on with big-haired young interns with simple tastes (and earthy flavors).

"Laying low" is an idiom! Idioms are allowed!

P.S. Just heard on the radio that female cadets were ranked first, second, fourth and ninth in the graduating class. I love that.
