LG,

>>>The level of manipulation in this Market just increases every day. <<<

I have been reading Richard Ney's work and it's amazing how correct your statement is. I was surprised, no made aware of what the specialists and market makers really do for a living. Now when I look at charts and I see what these guys do, they are not looking out for the investors best interest...

For example I got a buy signal for AOL Long term at 85 on Feb. 22,99 and there was not any hype. But it slowly moved up (specialist building inventory) and around 100 it decided to take off (Specialist unloading inventory)but it wasn't really until it peaked at 175 that it started getting upgrades (Specialist ran out of inventory and now are shorting)to price targets of over $200. And that is the time I got a sell signal at $152 on April 15. Since then it has steadily gone down and of course all the while the Specialist is covering his shorts and rebuilding his inventory.

Now the Brokers say hold your stock don't sell so that they look like they are on your side. But I ask you how many investors can hold a stock that has lost 40-50% of their value. I'm sure lots of people got in between $140-160 range thinking for sure $200 target was no problem. And I am not one to hold a loser so I sell. So PEOPLE PANIC and sell their losers and that is what the Specialists/Market makers want!

So I prefer watching charts and not listening to outside influence, charts do tell you everything.................

Later
