Why would, say, 5 for 1 be better than 3 for 1?
In any scenario, you still would own the same dollar amount of the stock and the same % of total market value. Yes, I know, shares (somehow) would be more attractive at a lower price, but that argument holds less water than in the past.

If your fantasy of a stock split announcement tomorrow
really comes true, I must congratulate the insiders on
keeping the secret so well. I would imagine that if the
company were to take the (unprecedented?) step of splitting
a stock 3 months on the heels of the previous split, the
stock would already have been on its way up by now. However,
from the recent stock performance, some might say the dominant
factors influencing buyers and sellers are Ebay's relatively
stagnant auction count; the possibility that secondary IPO
financing will not work; the growth of competing Inet auctioneers;
and the prevailing market conditions. It is possible that buyers
and sellers view these indicators as signaling a downward
direction for the stock price in the short and long term.
And, while it is possible that the company may generate a
press release or two, it appears that this tactic no longer
produces knee-jerk buying. Also, some might speculate that in
the event the stock slides further, the $150 support level may
prove to be even weaker than the former $170 support level was.

>>>Nelson -I believe after or during this next stockholder meeting we are going to see one of the best stock splits in history. Much better than a 3 for 1. <<<

Please explain.

Maybe I should go its only 12 miles from where I live in the bay area, if I buy 1 share in the morning would that buy me the entrance ticket? :) I only trade this stock, I don't hold it. To call me a shareholder, would do the others injustice.

And are you going to the meeting?
