>>>OT....do you have an opinion on this one?

I guess not but it's eating at me....

I found this this morning going through the news...PROI..CFI ProServices, Inc.

They are in the same segment as SONE/EDFY/FICS....when that deal went through SONE was trading near $60...that pumped EDFY, and FICS canceled it's plans to go public...and SONE shelled out 1.4 Billion for the combination...giving them about 60 to 70% market at this time.

Now you got this PROI...which bought MECA and ULTRADATA...and the CEO says....''With ULTRADATA, we can offer institutions of all sizes an integrated information management solution combining real-time host processing with our branch, call center, and e-commerce technology,'' said CFI's Chapman. ''This completes our host acquisition strategy that we began in January by acquiring a PC-based system oriented toward smaller financial institutions. We can now address every critical back office function a financial institution has, and every point of contact with its customers. Our technology solutions will help transition all types and sizes of financial institutions to the new, real-time technologies they need to survive and thrive in the 21st century.''

And In addition Intuit pumps 50 Million bucks into SONE and allows it to use the TAX, PAYROLL and such into their platforms.

The main question I have is why with PROI trading at a total Market Cap of 66 Million, making 16 cents a share last quarter, expected $1.19 this year, $1.45 net year...Why don't somebody buy them MECA etal...and further consolidate?

I bought some until I get an answer that makes sense to me, and in addition there was not until this morning when I discovered this for myself any topic on this Company on SI.

I mean the logical thing here to me is CKFR offers to take out this company for an all time 5 year high of $26ish....about 2 million shares at this price $45,(which they bought back last fall at $5.75 last year) So expend $12,000,000 to get ahold of MECA, which they can deal with INTU on, and grab bill pay relationships with 230 more Financial Institutions, and ties to 6,000 others in related service...which they could trade SONE shares for. Looks immediately accreative to me for everybody because they already are getting a nut...ie they are profitable.

But if CKFR, SONE, EDFY or FICS don't grab this....why NOT MSFT?

And it just got down graded.....so to me that's good enough.

In additon if this is an offensive OFF TOPIC file it with the EGPR, NTBK, INTU, XCIT, EDFY, BLLS and related off topic posts...I've posted. I just don't fully understand HOW....so I buy cause it seams screwed up.

OT....do you have an opinion on this one?

There is a joke running around...

"Have you heard that CFI is buying Meca and Ultradata?" The joke is.. "It's true!"

CFI has a unblemished track record of acquiring company's with fading technology for a premium price and excerbating the losses. CFI purchased their front-end and bill pay solution from a company called ISC. No, not Intuit Service Corp but Interactive Solutions Corp, which is the same ISC that CheckFree bought right after the IPO.

Ted Spooner was the owner and went to work for CKFR as head of their Internet division, he was the one that concieved Genesis. 18 months later, Ted ask Pete K if he could "please" buy his company back... Corillian Corporation was born.

CFI has a product that is 4 years out of date and MECA and Ultradata will not catch them up one bit, frankly I'm glad to see it happen, it gathers the clutter into one place and makes it easier for the rest of us.
