Then was less than 6 months ago.

The only reason I can think of why OEM's won't use it yet (assuming yields are good) is because they are waiting for the .18 version. I believe Compaq is the only big OEM to use the "P" version of the K6-2, and now the K6-III. Toshiba uses the "real" mobile K6-2.

We'll see how it turns out.
