>> Sounds like assimilation by the Borg to me... No it only has wireless connection to the device right now. Direct connection into your cerebral cortex will not be available before Palm IIX <G> I understand your point. It is not for everyone *and* it is only useful in the context that it was made for. It certainly was not made for hours long note taking. I rarely use it for notes that are more than 5 lines. Palm is successful because it does very well what it was meant to do, while leaving the door open for innovations. So when people like me bought what they thought was a hassle free organizer and found out that it can do a lot more, we came to love it. But there is no sense comparing it to a laptop. On the plus side, it weighs very little and is *exactly* the size of the paper note book that I used to carry in my pocket. The only thing that it is missing right now is the ability to record voice. If it had that, I would not have to carry my VoiceIt recorder with me to the meetings. Philip's Nino is a good organizer and records as well (for upto 6 hours I think), but the extra cost is not worth it to me since I already have the Palm and a VR-5000. There is a voice recognition software that types in the transcripts for me. Someone should melt 3Com's Palm Pilot, Creative's Nomad, and a Motorola pager into one item. I'd happily pay a $1000 for it. Throw in a GPS, and you will literally have one those nifty Star Trek communicators, way ahead of the 23rd century. BTW, Cross makes an electronic version of their writing pads that you might like. I think it is called I-Pen. Sun "call me Inspector Gadget" Tzu
