Interesting from Bloomberg…

Bond investors have next week's releases on May
manufacturing and employment to gauge the strength of the economy
and the outlook for a rate increase. Some say economic evidence
in the next few months will prove last month's jump in consumer
prices was an aberration.
''The economy will slow and we're just waiting for the
indicators to confirm it,'' said Eric Peterson, who helps oversee
$550 million at Talon Asset Management in Chicago. ''By the end
of the year, yields will be lower'' and, if that happens,
''longer-term securities should do better,'' he said.
He sees 30-year yields at 5.25 percent to 5.50 percent by
the year end.

don, i take it that per your system, if an expected bounce does not happen, it would be a strong negative? btw, i see continuing speculation in index calls, which is generally not a good sign, although it doesn't exclude the possibility of a bounce.
