I realize that he is not a doctrinaire socialist, just as I knew that they were talking about French towns. While I have not been following in detail, I can think of no reason for the "out- Thatchering Thatcher" charge except resentment by the hardcore left factions in Labour, especially the Trotskyists, who had an absurd aspiration to take over the party, which would have sounded its death knell. He is a "third way-er", like Clinton, which in practice seems to mean forwarding social democratic programs when possible, and tacking to the right when necessary....As for the French towns, why do you think they were shelled, target practice?
