Sounds like a problem with governments, not guns

That's exactly my point. Gun control isn't the answer. In some cases
the slaughter didn't start until many years after the confiscation.

I also think I've made a case that our own government has a slight problem, what with bombing Yugoslavia "for their own good" and the fact that school violence is up sharply, recently, and so forth. From my perspective, kids who hear terrorism decried in the press, who then see that we launch cruise missiles against what later turns out to be a Sudanese medicine plant as "retaliation" for embassy bombings ... and see all the bombings of hospitals and convoys and schools and embassies in Yugoslavia, done "for humanitarian reasons" ... who are then picked on in school ...

I'd be happy to take this to the Coffee Shop or something ... MG
