I had a problem with Etrade once on a name change, but if you phone and give them the #'s, they will execute immediately. At least they have for me.

jimBee, unless your broker really sucks, there is no problem trading the stock when the symbol changes; I've had to do this many times and never had a problem with DLJ. However, if you wanted to sell during the time it takes for the transfer agents to get the new shares to the broker, it could not be done online - it would have to be called in, but there's no problem doing that.
