Re: Paul Allen's Cable Plant

lml,
Here's the figures from his most recent two acquisitions. I think they are pretty low too:

Falcon has 1,000,000 subscribers. Allen paid $3,600/each.
Fanch has 550,000 subscribers. Allen paid $3,636/each.

Now from what I recall, someone posted the $/subscriber figure that AT&T paid for their last acquisition. I thought it was in the $6,000+ range? I wish SI had a better search engine.

Apparently what Paul Allen paid is pretty low. So there are 1,550,000 subscribers, ready for Paul Allen's Wired World, that will probably need significant upgrades to their coaxial lines to get two-way HFC services. Good for Last Mile Investors.

And the deals just keep coming. It's great to be investing in a sector where "billions" and "millions" are tossed around everyday.

PS Carolyn thanks for trying to find the figure. But Frank's question is something us, "Last Mile," investors would love to know<G> but it's probably somewhat a secret over in Paul Allen's camp.
