<<Spoke with CEO Steven Snyder

by: gpickles 143 of 155I

I sent an email to Net Perceptions a couple days ago and, much to my surprise, got a return phone call from Steven Snyder, co-founder and CEO of Net Perceptions. We spoke for about 40 minutes concerning the company and its recent stock performance. To summarize:

* He is aware of - and concerned about - the stock price, and understands that investor sentiment is rather negative at this point.

* Their legal counsel was very cautious about issuing press releases during the quiet period, to the point that they recommended against several PR's that Net Perceptions had intended to release during that time. He said to expect a steadier stream of news from the company now that the quiet period is over.

* They periodically review the various discussion forums (Raging Bull, Yahoo, Silicon Investor). He believes the commentary on these boards is a good guage of retail investor sentiment and actually does have an impact on the stock, since a large percentage of NETP's volume at this point is from individual investors. He said they may begin monitoring the boards on a regular basis.

* He was very enthusiastic about the company and its positioning. He was passionate about Net Perceptions leading the way towards personalizing the Internet experience for consumers. He also touted the applicability of Net Perceptions' technology in non-Internet related areas such as call centers. He said that many customers of one Net Perception product have come back for other products in order to tie together and personalize all their avenues of customer interaction.

* He said that Net Perceptions is the top high-tech company in Minnesota and a big draw for the best talent, of which they can be very selective. He contrasted this with Silicon Valley, where the available talent is spread very thin among hundreds of companies. He also intimated that the loyalty of his hires is much higher than in the frenetic high-tech centers of Silicon Valley or Boston. Recruiting top people from around the country has not been a problem.

* He had been invited for an interview on CNNFN the day of the IPO, but was too exhausted to appear. This was unfortunate. He said he would accept any future invitations from CNNFN, CNBC, etc.

* Our conversation was interupted briefly when he had to take an important phone call. He apologized and explained that the call concerned a matter that may result in increased shareholder value. I told him that I certainly did not want to interfere with that.

While naturally he could not make any specific forward-looking comments, I was encouraged by his enthusiasm and vision. If he and his team can execute that vision, then Net Perceptions will be a key player in the "new economy" and we will be very satisfied investors.

Go NETP!

LoD: It sure is nice to get input from the CEO -- after all he does own about 10% of the company. I bought some more NETP early this afternoon for the final time. I am Soooo Loooong on NETP that I may change my name to NETPbull or LONGonNETP.<GG>.. I feel that these prices in the teens will disappear soon. IMO, we will start to see this thing REALLY MOVE UP when some big news is announced. There is such a small float on NETP that it doesn't take much volume to move the price. This company should gain visibility and enhance its credibility in the next few months. When that happens there may be lots of folks ready to board the NETP train. The ticket prices could be much higher then..!!

Have a good holiday weekend.

Best Regards,

Scott
