With ECN's do you trade only within the ECN's?

Not necessarily. If the ECN can match your bid/offer internally, then the trade will happen within the ECN. If not, it may get posted to the general market. Some ECNs offer as an option the ability to trade only within the ECN i.e. don't post your bid/offer to the general market. One advantage of this is that you avoid crossing/locking the market. There may be other strategic advantages to keeping your bid/offer 'private' to the ECN.

Which MBTRADER level are you using with MBTrading?

I think its called MBTrader. Not MBLite or MBCustom. What I'm looking for is a lighter version of MBLite. Something that just permits direct entry of orders, manages acct positions/balances but NO quotes or graphs. QCharts works so much better for me than Real Tick that all I really need is some sort of direct order entry facility. Of course there are other things on that wish list like access to RAES or AMOS or POET (option exchanges) and access to as many ECNs as possible and integrated ECN books and ability to specify an order stay within the ECN so as to avoid partial fills/crossing/locking the market but...There's a 'dream machine' thread on SI. Maybe I should start a 'dream direct order entry broker' thread.
