Real del Monte Mining Corp announced that its board of directors has authorized the Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of the Corp to file an assignment in bankruptcy pursuant to the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada). In the opinion of the board of directors, it is desirable and in the best interests of the Corp, its creditors, shareholders and other interested parties that the Corp commence liquidation and insolvency proceedings at this time. Real del Monte also announced that its board of directors resigned.
