Bruce, i have to admit that i have no personal knowledge of either India or Pakistan, i was merely theorizing on a possibility, as the market often is confronted with unexpected issues which can serve to either trip it up or give it a boost. let me add though that the conflict between the two countries has to be seen with a somewhat more wary eye than before due to the fact that they have both gone nuclear. it is probably unlikely that their nuclear arsenals will see action, but the perception that the *possibility* for such an escalation exists is quite unsettling. i would therefore say that a further sharpening of the knives in the region may well turn out to be a negative for the stock market, and incidentally a positive for gold.

regards,
