brian p... how accurate were greenspan's 98 h-h statements to the congress...off by more than 30%...do you consider such a margin of error in the realm of genius...he is not a deity...he will take the dirt nap as we all will...what do we do then...riot in the streets....economies run fine without government intervention, credit tightening historically has caused inflation, maybe not in the text books of the economists but in the real world.....this is not double digit just out of the vietnam war carter era...this is a new economy shaped by productivity gains via technology, economists just beginning to grasp this concept...only a fool would think credit tightening would benefit the condition of current global economies...look at europe..they're cutting rates...we are not in an isolationist environment...
