"...Then you take everything you've got, leverage it up your you-know-what, mortgage your dog, your wife, your house, put it all in Dell stock and sit down and relax."

This yuppie couple is practically BEGGING God to come down and swat them over the head with a proverbial 2X4! What ego and arrogance! This ranks right up there with the guy who either remortgaged or sold (I can't remember which) his house and used the proceeds to buy a truckload of lottery tickets. Three guesses what happened! I just could not let this blurb go without putting my two cents in... Can a market debacle be that far in the future? I don't think so!

OT? - 9,000 Purple Hearts - That's An Order

<< Lee Graves this week got some good news for his business, but not very good news for soldiers.

"On Wednesday, we got the official order to make 9,000 Purple Hearts," he told me from Tomball, Texas.

Purple Hearts are awarded to servicemen and women who are wounded in the zone of hostility during war.

But we are not fighting a war, according to Bill Clinton, we are just "degrading" Slobbo's war machine. OK.

Then why in good God's name are we making Purple Hearts if we are not in a war and we don't expect casualties? >>

Watch what Slick does, not what he says.

Dangerous lies

<< As a first-time presidential candidate, he lied about how he avoided military service, lied about drug usage, lied about his extramarital affair with a former state government employee, lied about his role in Arkansas real estate transactions, lied about his accomplishments as governor and lied about what he would do if elected president. But that was OK because things would be different when he took the oath of office. ... cont'd ... >>

I don't think this reporter will get invited to the White House.

PS - It's only off-topic if we don't get into a major war.

re: margin
A post of mine to the happy thoughts thread was quoted last nite on CNBC, so bad they did not get the jest of my position on it(though I only posted it there this morning). I have posted like thoughts here before, and can only wonder how long until those long gold and or the miners see the creative part again and the shorts get the destruction?

There are a great many here on SI simply getting killed. One must wonder how many of these will remain disciples of the new paradigm when multiples of Internet issues reflect earnings and how they well they will average down when their losses equal ours? Can they possibly average down enough to work into the eventual correct valuations for an EBAY?
