I have been saying this for a LONG time. Everyone told me I was crazy- the government would never stop the internet development subsidies, because it was our future.

As usual, I was right, and they were wrong. Its just that I tend to be right about matters immediately, wheras it takes the rest of the population a while to figure out that I was right. (usually after they get hit over the head with the sledgehammer of economic reality)

Is there anyone here who seriously thinks that the web will escape taxation much beyond the three year moratorium or that the states will not challenge the moratorium even sooner. Taxes are coming, people,

BTW, I predict tomorrow will be the single largest down day for the Nasdaq, in its entire history.

Reason: margin calls are going out right and left, people dont see any immediate chance for gains in the internuts, and most importantly they want to be able to enjoy their extended weekend holiday.

Everyone is going to dump tomorrow. I wont make any predictions about the DOW, but the nasdaq is going to be crushed.

Cap,

Glenn always said net retailers will either raise prices or go out of business. But how do you explain this: they all lose money and they all stay in business and expand ?

Internet sales will be taxed at some point, but temporary freedom from sales tax is not the etailing's key advantage.
