Simply repeating what was hitting the phones and news desks on the Street today, John. I have no idea whether it's true or not. Believe me, I hope it's not. If anything, I think there was some confusion regarding a consulting firm's report that the Fed will raise rates at their June meeting.

Lots of confusion today, however. Let's get something straight. I am a Bull on the market. I DO NOT SHORT THE MARKET. Today hurt me more than it hurt you. Trust me. I was simply passing along what I heard in an attempt to try and explain why the Market sold off so dramatically.

I'll try to refrain from such posts in the future.

Sorry, John, I couldn't resist.

Per Bloomberg this morning:

- Regarding inflation: Hong Kong economy slowed a larger than expected 3.5% in first Q of '99; Copper prices tumbled to two month low as fears of a slowing economy/consumer demand appear to be resurfacing --- this doesn't help the inflation argument.

- Regarding the Fed: There are new reports this morning renewing fears about a rate hike that suggest the Fed may seek to raise rates by .25% as early as today.

Again, this text is exactly as it has been reported by Bloomberg News this am. I am not making this information up for selfish reasons.

I don't think Teflon's post was irresponsible at all. There is not a single post of his that hasn't informed me, on this and MSFT thread.
