Ultra_III is significant and an outstanding execution. It will
give wintel team great pressure to deliver their promise. Merced
performance is not even near to ultra_III and one year late.
SUN gonna have tremendous advantage over wintel in high end server
market if ultra_III can go into production as scheduled. The
trend really reverse now, it used to be intel always comes out
first and everybody else comes from behind. Ultra_III seems to
be first next generation chip out there. But the production could
still be a concern and one working sample is not the whole story
yet.

Butt as I've said b4, Intel does not have a DSP chip. Texas Instruments developed their own. And JINI may use those DSP chips.
