you use hourly data.

No - my analysis of SPX is daily closing prices. I do look at hourlies to get some more insight but I don't download that data.

Bill,
Watching the hourly data can be a real pain in the backside (literally too!), but sometimes it pays off by telling me where to take profits or pare back on a short position like it did this morning. But the good thing about using the hourly signals, is that I have another whole hour (not including trading and research time), to get my butt off the Star Cave's Captain's chair <g>, and do other important things that pop up.
