~Hi Mike, hope things turn up on you. Just to let you know, I lost $100,000 on CMGI, bought 1000 shares at 300 and sold out at 200 (margin calls). You're not alone out there. This stock can cause heart attacks and euphoria.~

Jim: I think many of us have lost, say 50%ish of our gains year to date. But let me tell you something... I have been a trader all my life ( My day job entails buying millions in fresh vegetables out of california and routing them to the east. remember elnino?)

The point I am trying to make is this: I have learned more in 7 months on SI from people like Mark Peterson and the William Harmonds and others on the CMGI board than I've learned from any means of education in my life ( So much for the schools in P.A.) but trading and business is one part of life., Family., the people who love you is what living is all about..

Good Luck!

Mike

Jimmy,

Sorry to hear about going to the cleaners on CMGI.. Been there done that on others. Have you ever used options? Mark could be more help on this, and you may be more knowledgeable on this than I. But if not, it is possible you could have written some in the money long-term covered calls to raise a significant amount of cash.

Of course, if you were with one of the brokerages that made CMGI unmarginable, then even that wouldn't help.

Just a thought. Good luck!

Mike

You are remarkably at peace about that. Either a very well grounded portfolio or a
very well grounded perspective. Rob
