MetaCreations and Apple Reveal Interactive and E-Merchandising Solutions during New Seminar Series
"If you can dream it you can stream it" series to focus on 3D Internet technology for e-commerce and other creativity applications
Carpinteria, Calif.- June 22, 1999 -- MetaCreations Corporation, the Creative Web Company, (Nasdaq: MCRE) today launched Creativity Conference II, a series of free seminars to help educate technology users about 3D and how it can be used to revolutionize Web interactivity, e-merchandising and other applications. The seminars at Apple Market centers across the United States are a joint venture between MetaCreations and Apple Computer to give insight into real-world practical uses of creative, digital tools for Web artists and graphics professionals. The series begins today in Detroit.
The seminars will explore the creative possibilities of MetaCreations' latest 3D products including Canoma, which rapidly transforms 2D images into photo-realistic 3D images; Bryce 4, which builds natural and super natural 3D landscapes; and MetaStream the widely-used open-file standard for streaming 3D objects over the Internet.
"Hosting these seminars with Apple gives us the ability to reach out to the people that benefit most from our products, from our traditional customer base of 2D graphics designers to our expanding audience of 3D e-commerce Web developers," said David Roberts, Manager of Evangelism for MetaCreations. "The Creativity Conference II series offers exciting solutions for creating and streaming 3D for use on the Web and will help MetaCreations to further educate and excite graphics and Web professionals on the power of 3D digital tools to unleash creative opportunities, speed workflow and revolutionize the online shopping experience."
The seminar will demonstrate how MetaCreations' 3D products:
Make e-merchandising a more lifelike, sensory experience Enhance a variety of online environments Easily integrate with popular design applications
The decision to jointly offer a second round of the seminar series stems from the success of the first round, a recently concluded multi-city event for the graphic design industry, which exposed the individual and combined possibilities available from a extensive selection of digital tools and technologies.
