Steve, there's really no way to know that. I remember heavy insider sales at a company (WTT) about a month before the stock went on a tear, doubled in about three weeks...and that was long before the Internut mania.<g>

Hi Steve,

I have included following large block transactions as one strategy for some time. Here are several examples. Keep in mind when a large block transaction occurs the buyer is the aggressor who is more often than not getting those shares at some sort of discount. The seller often does so out of desperation. SCIO & GLFD. SCIOS liquidated it's position because it needed cash at that time. At ABTX the CEO of ABTX had to liquidate his shares because of a margin call.

Notice the chart pattern. The large block transactions. Two of them if I remember correctly. Both occurd before the stock traded up from the low two's into the three dollar range. The stock traded close to five within two months from the block exchange with Dapt filing.

BTRN: Late Feb Early Mar BTRN had a large block exchange. Around $2. In the past 10 trading days it traded to $4+.

ABTX: The CEO received Margin calls on his huge portfolio. He desperately had to unload over a million shares of a stock which was trading at $20 something just months earlier. The stock was under intense manipulation by Shorts and legal filings. Wisconsin stepped in and block purchased the CEO's shares mid to late Feb.

The stock did tumble a bit more because the shorts were determined to shake all margin calls free. Needless to say the stock is trading at a healthy level at & above for some time now relative to the large block purchase.

Steve I don't mind the big institutional investors buying large blocks one bit. This suggests they have done their homework. More than you or I... : ).

GLFD: Two large block transactions over the past few months at a discount. Close to 10 1/4 & 10 1/2. First block SCIO needed monies for funding operations.

Winner the buyer. Buyer a broad spectrum of insiders ( hard to fool all of the people ) and a block buyer.

Second block ??? Hmmm another interested party at these levels. I wonder who.

Oh has anyone been able to figure out why the major institutional holders voted down anti-takeover efforts?

Having recommendations by brokerage firms is one thing. Having insiders and large block buyers take a large stake in the company an even more bullish offering.

Best Wishes
Jeffrey
