The doc hoped that with the intense exercise (gardening, dancing, housework, following the stock market) my body would metabolize the extra thyroid. It did not do so. Instead, I'd do as many things as possible til I got exhausted.

He trimmed the dose slightly. He thinks I might feel better.

Also, they like to keep the thyroid levels as normal as possible because additional thyroid can thin bones and cause irregular heart beats.

Mine was not excessively high, however.
