Just a footnote to a discussion on medical marijuana I heard on PBS this morning. While I caught only bits and pieces, a Dr. "Greenspoon" (?), a Harvard associate professor of psychiatry, noted that there was only one serious marijuana study underway of an analog called HU-211 by an Israeli company which he did not name. He said this in conjunction with a comment that the large drug companies won't put any money into research because marijuana itself is not patentable.
