The name on the players will be the OEM's, not e.digitals'.
EDIG will not be involved marketing the plays either. JMHO

E.digital will not be selling any of their "products" themselves. As
stated by the recent press release, they and Lucent are "offering to OEM customers the licensing of their reference design as well as the handheld solid-state music player". This means that other outfits with their own recognized name(s) will be doing the actual selling to
the public.

David: Don't be too concerned about marketing of the player. It has been designed and prototyped by EDIG, but is being built by others. EDIG is an engineering and design company, with only 17 employees. What they sell is mostly intellectual properties. The folks at Lucent, in conjunction with some music or hi-fi industry biggie, will take care of the marketing angle; and branding of the player is not, IMHO, a concern. News of whose name the players will be sold under is imminent, and will undoubtedly be a household name with instant recognition. Concurrent with that info will come contract announcements concerning production quantities, pricing, etc. At that point, expect a pop in EDIG and big volume increases. The real party has yet to begin, but keep your calendar open in mid to late June, if not sooner (IMHO).

>>>An issue for me is E.Dig. ability to market the music player vs. companies like Sony and Matsushita (Panasonic). To imagine the label 'edigital..Sony...Panasonic' lined up on a shelf <<< You won't be seeing the label "e.digital". It might be e.digital on the INSIDE, but the label would be the name of whichever company decides to manufacture it under THEIR label. (Sorry, I guess about 10 people have already answered this.)
