Probably - United Siscoe used to pay it's directors in silver dollars - mind you, for dividends, you have problems with portability. d

I found (in a jewelry store) a silver coin from Homestake(nice design with their logo) , If I remember correctly, date on it was 1969. Second hand story was they were given to employees and "key" shareholders.
