Ramsey- Perhaps you should start by making certain distinctions between the US and Chinese systems of justice. If there are people imprisoned in the US who should not be imprisoned- Kevin Mitnick possibly excepted- then I would like to know. Now miscarriages of justice do occur. Our system makes considerable effort to prevent them from occurring, but they occur nonetheless. Perhaps you could enlighten this thread on the comparable efforts the Chinese system makes to prevent miscarriages of justice or to prevent the improper imprisonment of people. <<The US incarcerates more of its citizen than any other nation. Our chain gangs are still in existence, not to mention the prison race gangs.>> What's your point? Are you implying there is something inherently wrong with chain gangs? If so, what is wrong about them?? I suggest those people deserve what they have gotten. The fact that we have a higher incarceration rate than other countries reflects some of the unique aspects of American society. But it simply has no bearing on whether or not those people are justly imprisoned, as I suggest Chinese prisoners often are not. Would it be possible for you, when framing your arguments, to stick to relevant facts?<<Finally, I am somewhat surprised by your post because I always thought you know better.>> Given some of your prior posts to me, I submit you speak with an ingratiating, forked tongue.<<For starters, I think we should stop making irresponsible statements such as above.>> Perhaps you could explain what is irresponsible about the statement you criticize. Or is your comment simply a vacuous little smear with no intellectual content to substantiate it? Larry
