Boy, what a bounce at the end of the day- looked like some program buying for month ending window dressing. I sold some more SUN covered calls for 65 today. Also on my Intel and ASND positions.

Regards

Alok

Haim, you are frigging serious when you said wars are never positive for any economy??? How much study have you done on wars impact on the economy? Or are you just sitting on your infinitestimal small trading desk and dream up this manufacturing weapons to destroy asset bullshit?

First of all, you manufacture weapons to destroy your enemy's asset, you don't manufacture weapons to destroy your own asset!!! Then when your enemy surrenders, you go in their country and raid what they have. You tell them you would help them rebuild their countries, but only on your own turns. Would feudal Japan develop to such an enoumous economic superpower had it not been WWII? Hell no, they would've spent every dime they have in building weapons, instead of their basic economic infrastructure. They would've been the Russia in 1990's, huge social unrest because of the huge arm race their government had undertaken during the 40 years of the cold war. Wars not only benefit the American economy, but also accelerate the Japanese post war economic recovery.

If wars aren't good for the economy, why did the Brits, French, Spanish engaged in such brisk world exploration and conquering race in the 16th, 17th, 18th century?? Why did they fought the Native Amricans, Aztecs, Phillipinos, South Americans, Indians and the Affricans? Why did Hoover go to Cuba and fight the Spanish in 1900 for some phony reasons?

You know, Karl Marx had some crazy ideas about socialist society, but his ideas on wars were right on target. Wars stimulate economy, that's always been the case and always will be the case.

Face it, wars have always been benifiticial for the victors. The key idea is you defeat your enemy, you go in their and take everything you can. It's always been the case and it will always be the case as long as the wars aren't the type of total destruction nuclear wars. Go to Amazon.com and buy some books about the wars economic impact. Don't just bullshit on a subject that you have no idea of.
