I totally agree. In my business, I am able to push thru substantial price increases and the customers are willing to pay. A lot of the money made in the market these past years is finding its way to the street. I suspect those continuing to throw money at the market may be the ones left holding the bag while those who have made a killing have pulled back and are enjoying the proceeds of their success.
Whatever the effects of y2k, the uncertainty will probably have the effect you discribed.

IMHO only some parts, other sectors may well boom. If some of the bad guy types (from inside or outside our borders) decide to attempt & or commit evil deeds, things might well stall far beyond that.
