Bill, Ya know, George McGovern really was a decent guy. I wonder what would have happened had he won in 1972. I still remember what he said once when I saw him speak at this University. He said that he had been a bomber pilot of a B-17 in the 8th air wing over Germany. Of course, that was such a violent air war that about 1/3 of all Americans assigned died in combat. He said that even though he had flown 25 missions over Germany and that it was frightening, he was never so afraid as when he spoke out against the Viet Nam war on the floor of the United States Senate. He had lots of courage to take a position like that. Quite a leader. I don't think Bubba could hold a candle to McGovern. -John
