Below is some news regarding IBM's relationship with Citrix. BTW, in doing a little DD on CTXS competitor GraphOn, they also apparently have some kind of agreement with IBM. I can't remember exactly what it is now? I'm not concerned about GraphOn being a viable competitor to CTXS. I would be surprised (which would not be the first time) if they are.

Anyhow, after listening to 40 minutes worth of their presentation, there wasn't a thing they said that CTXS could not have said. As a matter of fact, GraphOn's CEO used CTXS's as an example of how important the thin-client market is.

Citrix Announces Addition of IBM Global Services to Enterprise Solutions Provider Channel Program

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.-- June 16, 1999-- World's Largest System Integrator to Recommend Citrix Software to Global 1000 Companies and Manage IBM Corp.'s Worldwide Server-Based Computing Deployment.

Citrix Systems, Inc. announced that IBM Global Services has expanded its relationship with Citrix by joining the company's Enterprise Solutions Provider channel program. Validating the mainstream enterprise adoption of server-based computing, IBM Global Services will provide consulting, outsourcing and system integration services for Citrix MetaFrame and WinFrame server-based computing software across Global 1000 companies. In addition, IBM Global Services will manage IBM Corporation's own worldwide deployment of Citrix server-based technology across its divisions.

Already a Citrix ICA(R) licensee for the IBM Network Station and member of the Citrix Business Alliance Program, IBM Corporation has strong server-based computing implementations internally and with global enterprise customers....This alliance significantly extends Citrix's relationship with IBM Corporation, and furthers the reach of Citrix server-based technology within Global 1000 companies.

IBM Corporation's use of server-based computing solutions across its divisions has resulted in improved productivity as employees have high-performance access to their applications, from anywhere in the world. "An application deployment process that previously took months can be reduced to a few weeks with Citrix server-based technology," added Sammis. "MetaFrame's centralized server-based computing technology has enabled IBM Global Services to manage applications from a single point, saving global customers valuable time and money."

Citrix has provided IBM Global Services with headquarters-based marketing, sales and technical support, as well as field sales and systems engineering support. Citrix and IBM Global Services will participate in customized joint marketing. IBM Global Services and its field locations will also receive technical and sales study programs from Citrix and its Authorized Learning Centers (CALCs).
