From SSB downgrade on May 17th.

"We believe that investors who are concerned with our order
flattening/decline forecast should use the period after Applied's call to make the necessary adjustments," he said. "We believe that Applied Materials' stock will remain in the low 50's to 70 trading range over the next three to six months, as the effects of the DRAM price declines work their way through the chain and until we get visibility on the profitability/volume outlook for the 0.25 micron [chip]." MR

They must have a crystal ball. We have seen the low 50's now let's see the 70. <G> What will drive the price to 70 from this juncture, other than perhaps earnings in August??

I'm unfortunately not able to do this, as I am traveling this week. My original source is data from ICE, from IC Insights, and from SEMI, should anyone else want to pursue the question in my absence.

Katherine

PS I did post the ASP data about this time last year, if anyone's motivated to track it down.
