Sun,

RE "[Amazing, someone with willingness to risk his neck at SSB! This is a first and he must be new]."

This is not the first and SSB, I presume, has the "Blessing" on her Analysts' Actions ... Two years ago in May, their pretty Lady Analyst --- Erika Klauer --- issued a Sell Signal for AMAT (then at the price of 65 coming down from 72) citing among others that their target of 65 was met and that the Outlook for the CHIP industry was not good. We in this Thread who were expecting a price of over 100 for AMAT vehemently protested then (guess who was proven right)...

I don't know if Erika is still with Salomon ... but recently it was reported that her target this time is about 90.

It seems this Downgrading of AMAT in May in every Bull Market is becoming a Habit for SSB. (They may be profiting from such action and that whatever they Say they are counting that AMAT investors have short memories)...

Habits are Histories repeating themselves (not exactly but close enough to merit attention)... Some Day when I get the time I'll explain why History Repeats Itself (to some extent that is...)...

<We are a long way away from the bottom, because supply has not fallen below demand yet >

True: However, I believe that during the Asian crisis the demand curve for silicon shifted back. Today, and over a year later, that demand is coming back, albeit slowly while Moore's law, and elasticity have allowed more content to be driven into our daily lives.

Equilibrium may come sooner than expected.
