Ralph, good article. It is a funny game. When trainers enter a horse that has run stakes or allowances in claiming races, lots of folks think the horse has a physical problem. I have seen more than a few steal the winner's share of purses this way. Then again, I've seen a horse that ran in The Preakness run in several claiming races at Sam Houston and never finish higher than 4th. So, it is high risk to buy an animal from somebody who probably knows more about his potential than you do.
