Gore Announces That He Does Not Wear Underwear

In an effort to breathe life into his ailing
Presidential Campaign, Vice President Al Gore
today announced that he doesn't wear
underwear. The declaration appears to have
been prompted by last week's release of
Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura's
autobiography. When Alisa Vowles, BNN's
Campaign 2000 correspondent was able to catch
up to the Vice President she asked him, "Is the
underwear announcement an attempt to make
you appear to be more human?" Gore responded
to the question in a very stiff and metered voice
by saying, "Absolutely not. When Jesse Ventura
announced that he follows the Navy Seal practice
of not wearing underwear he failed to acknowledge who was responsible for starting
that tradition. Everyone knows the Navy Seals got the idea from me. I just wanted
to make sure that I received the proper credit that I deserve."

Members of Gore's campaign staff stand by the Vice President's claims. One
campaign staffer told BNN, "I am not shocked that the Vice President doesn't wear
underwear. I've suspected it for a while because of the strange smell that always
accompanies Mr. Gore."
