Nortel Networks And HP Announce Services Alliance To Provide
Worldwide Sales and Support of Nortel Networks Products
SANTA CLARA/PALO ALTO, CA, June 1 /CNW/ - Nortel Networks
(NYSE/TSE: NT) and Hewlett-Packard Company (HWP) today
announced a network services alliance under which the companies
will jointly deliver comprehensive network lifecycle services
and support, including consulting, design, support, and
reselling of Nortel Networks' solutions.
Today's announcement reinforces Nortel Networks' Unified
Networks strategy to provide a comprehensive set of products
and services that will help customers make the transition from
today's segregated voice and data networks to the single
network infrastructure of tomorrow. This relationship enables
HP and Nortel Networks to successfully build robust IT
infrastructures supporting the growth of e-services by offering
a true end-to-end portfolio across the network lifecycle.

offering its customers access to one of the top IT services

As part of the Nortel Networks Global Solutions Partner
Program, HP will resell Nortel Networks' data networking
products to enterprise customers worldwide. In addition, Nortel
Networks will offer customers improved levels of support by
leveraging HP's comprehensive portfolio of world-class network
service, support, and financing services. HP has made a
significant investment in training and certification, including
meeting Premier Service Partner requirements, and currently
offers some of the most comprehensive service and support
capabilities of all Nortel Networks' Global Solutions Partners.
These services will be delivered to customers worldwide through
the Nortel Networks Global Solutions Partner Program, Nortel
Networks' broadest Business Partner designation reserved for
select Nortel Networks Business Partners.
HP will provide complete network lifecycle and support
services for Nortel Networks solutions to HP and Nortel
Networks customers around the world. These services cover the
following:
- consulting - including business to IT alignment, IT
solutions
architecture, and Internet assessment
- design - including logical and physical design, product
procurement,
and migration planning
- implementation - including project management, staging
and
integration, and installation and verification
- support - including post-installation proactive/reactive
support,
network monitoring, fault isolation, and network
management
- financing - including network solution financing
options

aggressive financial, geographic, skills and competence
