marc, Please don't try to attribute your thoughts to me. Further don't attribute to me your misinterpretations or what you incorrectly interpret as my beliefs. I'll tell you what I think. You obviously are hopelessly incompetent at telling me what I think. Further, if you're unable to make any distinction whatsoever between the Fed's mandate; and what it might or might not consider, or might or might not do in carrying out that mandate, there's not much point in attempting to have an intelligent dialogue. And finally, check out the dialogue between Mr Greenspan and Congress the last time the Fed decided to go ahead with a preemptive rate increase. Just a little dose of reality, Ian.
