Why I sold today:

NETP will rise again. I think we will see 25 in a month or two but that will be a resistance point that could linger on for over 5 months. by then I could buy it again. Since 25 was my average price and I see no significant gains by holding long just to break even, I sold and bought ATHM. This huge ~26K loss will be a nice tax break for me since I'm self employed and don't have any taxes taken out of my paychecks throughout the year. Kind of like the end of the year tax selling that goes on. Now I'll hold ATHM long and worry less because I'm much more sure of their future and I can even afford to daytrade it because I'll have to make 26K or more before worrying about paying uncle sam for my gains.

Steve Harmon on ATHM:
<<i believe @home now with at&t as a major shareholder may have considerable advantage to become an 'aol on steroids'

at&t now can put its muscle into @home/excite
at&t's billing system alone, not to mention marketing machine
can now work the tci-@home-excite-worldnet machine

the question is whether or not @home can keep its agreements across so many cable operators

either way, @home to me represents a significant opportunity that hasn't been realized in my opinion>>

Does anyone have insights into the effect XML might have on the internet stocks?
I read v.interesting article on XML technology in late April;
seems to have excellent implications for sites like drugstore.com;
not sure what other applications and businesses might grow with this tool.
