Himalaya is a specialized "lockstep" non-stop system with lots of redundancy and plays to a very specific market. It runs only the Tandem software stack. The Wildfire products run NT, Unix, Linux, VMS, and all of the general purpose applications which those environments provide. It is not designed to have the 99.9999% reliability of Tandem systems, but it will probably achieve 99.99%. It will also be much less expensive than an equivalent Tandem system.

I don't know if there was a demo of Wildfire at Innovate, if so I didn't hear anything about it. I doubt it - I think he was demoing an Alpha cluster based on currently shipping machines.
