I don't think anybody in the PLA seriously believes that the US, far less NATO, is contemplating using military action to "separate Tibet from the motherland" or to move against North Korea. But they will certainly raise the issue, and portray it as a real threat, when budgeting time comes around.

I wonder where they learned that trick?

The People's Daily yesterday also quoted the Chief of Staff, General Fu Quanyou, as urging more "large-scale army training using science and technology".

Chinese version of the Military-Industrial Complex??

It is ridiculous to believe that the US and South Korea would attack N.Korea unless provoked.

Heck, for decades the US' primary role in the peninsula was to keep their "rabid" ROK allies from tearing into the north and getting a little "payback" for the original invasion.

Let's face some facts here. It hasn't been the South Koreans who have beeen digging tunnels under the border for accomodating invasion forces, circumventing the layers of minefields that exist.
