IF raw performance was the only issue...DEC would have put everyone out of business 6 years ago...Alpha/DEC Unix is about 5 percent of the UNIX market. That should tell you something. Sequent's announcement regarding abandoning DEC UNIX in favor of AIX for their next generation machines should also tell you where people think Compaq is going with DEC UNIX.

No wonder your responses to me are so one dimensional ; you only post/read SUNW. Do some research, DEC kicks Sun's butt on most benchmarks with less CPU's and they have the best clustering technology on the planet.
